Jazzmeenah Afghans welcomes you

My passion of Afghans began for me in 1970 when my eldest sister bought a poster of one and put it on her bedroom wall and in her absence I would sit on the edge of her bed and just look at this beautiful animal..I was hooked. We lived in London at the time so my friend and I took ourselves off to Crufts and there we saw the Afghans in the flesh. It was my dream come true to just be able to stroke one .A truly unforgettable moment. I continued to worship from afar and the years passed  During this time I was always surrounded by my menagerie and I also fostered cats and dogs for a local charity and it was through this that I heard about a six year old Afghan needing a good home as the owners were fed up of spending hours chasing after her when she escaped from their garden!!! In 1983 I brought LouLou home and over the years a total of three other rescue affies joined my home. In 1991 I was without my beloved hounds and I began to work full time so to be fair I didn't have any more dogs .A big gap was left in my life.
I had four cats when I met Andy in 1997 and when he said that he had two cats I thought I will marry this man as he loves his animals as much as I do !!
We married in 2001 and both working our household consisted of four beautiful cats.
Family bereavements made me really assess my life so I took a step back, changed jobs and worked part time.
My mum left us an amount of money and we put it to good use but I needed something life changing.
Andy was coming home telling me  about some cute little Bichon Frise dogs that he had seen. He seemed to be coming around to the idea of having a dog so not to miss the opportunity I searched the Internet for information and while doing this I happened to have a look at Affies !!! I managed to contact a breeder we had lots of chats and I arranged  to visit her and see the puppy that she had for sale .I knew Andy would come around but I needed to convince him pretty quick bearing in mind that he didn't really know what I was up to.
There is a reason for me telling all of this..I shall continue !!!
When he eventually realised that he had been hoodwinked into getting an Afghan he said "You feed her you look after her!!"
Before Jasmine came he built a wooden gate, mended fencing around the garden, bought a very large kennel and run we bought a cage ( the spare bed had to go) for her bedroom, a grooming trolley, hair dryer grooming kit etc...and said goodbye to the lawn!!
Jasmine arrived August '06 she had been with us for a month when Andy said that he will sell his beloved Mercedes SLK for a more practical vehicle, do you remember " you feed her you look after her ?"
Moving on we now have Jeffrey,Jacob and an even bigger car to transport us. Our lives have been completely enriched and turned around we have our three beautiful Affies -we still have  four cats- we have met so many lovely people and we have been to so many shows all over the country.
We will introduce our babies on their own page.
I am sure our story will continue !! Please come and visit for more news!!
